A.skate news:

Once again Jereme Rogers and his crew from Selfish Skateboards has made a HUGE donation to A.skate for our Grants for Gear program. We are expecting 900 decks and 500 sets of wheels on Tuesday. Thank you Jereme, Dan, and Frank! We are still in need of trucks, bearings, grip tape, hardware... anything else companies can donate to help us fill these grants for the kids. We have over 200 applications waiting to be filled. Contact chrisaworley@yahoo.com to donate!

New Website

Its confirmed... I came in this morning and I had the brand new website to review in my inbox. The complete spring catalog is there, team profiles, contact info and of course our new blog. It will be online in the next week I promise... Its looking good for spring!!!

Kids in Singapore... with JR

We went down to Singapore for a week and got love from the scene... some kid sent this video to me. Sometimes its worth going out of your way to promote in a small market. They remember you for a long time and are loyal to your brand afterwards.

Selfish Skateboard team is growing

Heres our future Selfish team on these pictures. Everytime I see the kids smiling with our boards in their hands it makes me smile. If you want to make a donation go to ASkate.org. Selfish Skateboards in Japan!! If you have a shop in Japan my man Go Ueda from 13 mind is handling distribution over there. He specialises in high-end products and has been doing very well with Selfish since the launch. There are still distributors that beleive in higher end products NOT MADE in CHINA! Things are moving with Selfish Skateboards we have half the team in Montreal (top picture) and the other half in Singapore (bottom picture). That's the complete opposite of the globe. When its noon in Montreal its midnight in Singapore!! Jereme Rogers is doing a demo with Aquil Brathwaite at the largest skate event in Singapore the Mettle Games and Brian Wenning and Kyle Nicholson are going to Montreal for the first event we have sponsored the Empire Backyard party.

ESPN Interview Kerry Getz

Just found this interview with Kerry Getz done by Chris Nieratko on ESPN... I pulled out the last 2 questions:

My last question is, how come Kyle Nicholson didn't get on Habit and he ended up on Selfish Skateboards?
I don't know, man. Skateboarding is a critical thing and Habitat is a tough company to get on and they pick and choose. I don't even want to talk about that ... it sucks.

But we can agree that Kyle rips, right?
I agree that he should be on Habitat. He is one of the best East Coast skateboarders right now and in the entire world. He rips and he just turned 21 and he can outskate almost anybody I've ever seen. The kid is unbelievable. He can skate everything and kill it. I really wish that Habitat would have done something with him and gave him a chance to get out there.

Jereme got his worst score of the season and P Rod refused to skate the last dew tour... the course was just bad. Like Paul said its the equivalent of having Shaq play on a court where the free throw is 10 feet further and the baskets are 5 feet higher! It just doesnt work... hopefully they have it better next year.
